FAQs
Below are answers to some of the most common questions we receive from customers. If you have additional questions not covered here, feel free to contact our team for more information.
We generally accommodate both large and small orders. Our minimum order quantity (MOQ) for brake drums is typically a full 20-foot container load for standard pricing. This quantity ensures cost-effective production and shipping. However, we understand that new customers may want to place a smaller trial order. We are flexible and can often fulfill smaller orders or sample requests to help you evaluate our products. It’s best to discuss your needs with our sales team – we will work to find a suitable order quantity that meets your budget and requirements.
Lead times can vary depending on the order size and our current production schedule. In general, our manufacturing lead time is around 4–6 weeks from order confirmation to completion of production for a typical volume order. Once the brake drums are produced, shipping to the USA by ocean freight usually takes an additional 3–5 weeks (for example, about 4 weeks to West Coast ports) . So, from order to delivery at a U.S. port, you can expect roughly 8–12 weeks. We will provide a more precise estimate when you place your order. If you have an urgent requirement, let us know – we can explore expedited options such as air freight (which can deliver in under 1 week) or prioritize your production slot when possible. Our goal is to deliver as quickly as possible without compromising quality.
We offer flexible shipping options to fit your logistics needs. For international orders, we commonly ship by sea in container loads. You can choose FOB (Free On Board) terms – where we deliver the goods to the port in Vietnam and you handle shipping from there – or CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) terms where we arrange the ocean shipment to your designated port . Most customers opt for ocean freight due to the cost efficiency for heavy brake drums. We can ship Less than Container Load (LCL) for smaller orders or Full Container Load (FCL) for larger orders. If you need faster delivery, we can ship by air to major airports. Domestically in the U.S., you would then arrange trucking from the port or airport to your facilities, but we can assist or connect you with reliable freight forwarders if needed. Rest assured, we handle all the export documentation on our end (commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, etc.), making the logistics process as smooth as possible for you.
Yes, absolutely. Our brake drums are engineered to meet all relevant U.S. safety regulations and industry standards. In terms of certifications, our factory is ISO 9001:2015 certified and also holds the IATF 16949:2016 certification for automotive quality management – this demonstrates our commitment to consistent, high-quality production . TBP Auto offers a wide range of brake drum models to ensure compatibility with most commercial vehicles. Our product line covers brake drums for many popular truck and bus manufacturers worldwide, including American, European, and Asian brands. For example, we produce drums equivalent to those used in Freightliner, Peterbilt, and International trucks, as well as drums for buses and trailers. We also cover models for European trucks (e.g., Mercedes-Benz, Volvo) and Japanese makes (e.g., Hino, Isuzu) . To determine the right fit, you can provide us with the OEM part number or specifications of your current brake drums, and we will cross-reference it to our catalog. Our technical team can assist you in identifying the correct drum for your axle configuration (bolt pattern, dimensions, etc.). In many cases, fleets find that TBP Auto drums are direct replacements for the OEM drums with the same fit and performance.
